Using Textures/Stocks
This will develop using layers in PSP, which can make you create some awesome graphics such as layouts and blends.
1) First find a few images that you would like to use for your textural blend/layout. I have used three images from this site.
These are the pictures that I have used, you may use these to follow the tutorial.
- Picture 1
- Picture 2
- Picture 3
Copy and paste these pictures to your PSP.

2) Open up a new page. Set the measurements like below:

3) Copy the first image.

3) Go to your new page, right click on the window bar and select Paste >> Paste As New Layer. Do this to the other two images too.

4) Click on the Eraser Tool and set the measurements like below. You might find it better with the circle shape rather than the sqaure shape.

5) Click on the top layer, and where you see the side overlapping another image, erase the edge of that off so it looks smoother and blended in. Do the same for the middle image overlapping the left image. Fill the bottom layer (where it is blank) in black (#000000). Click on the New Raster Layer button at the top of your Layers palette (and click OK).

6) Select a black and white gradient. Make it diagonal, where the white corner hits the bottom right hand side. Fill the layer with this gradient. Set the mode to Lighten. Now add another layer, select the same gradient but drag the direction of the gradient to the other side, so the white hits the bottom left hand side. Fill this layer in too and set the mode to Lighten.

7) Create a New Layer again. Select a gradient that you'd like to use. I have gone for a light red and white gradient. I want the darker shade (light red) to stay horizontally in the bottom. Make this layer Darken.

8) Right click on that layer, and choose Duplicate. Set the Layer to Multiply and the opacity of 65.

9) Again, right click on the previous layer, and choose Duplicate. Now set the Layer to Overlay and the opacity of 80.

Now for the textures part!!
10) Find a texture that you would like to use. I have used my own texture, which you can find here. Copy this texture and right click on the window bar of your work and choose Paste >> Paste As New Layer (or go to Edit >> Paste As New Layer).

11) Make the texture layer to Soft Light.

12) Find another texture. I used this one from this site. Set this to Burn.

And we're all done!! Click here to see the final image.
