Pixelated Effect
Pixelated? An effect? A really cool advanced image?? Yep, yep, yep!!

1) Open an image that you want to use this effect on. I used an image from this this myspace site. I cropped the image, you can use my cropped version here.
2) Go to your Layers Palette and right click on your layer (should be called "Background") and select Duplicate from the options.

3) At the top, click on Effects >> Distortion >> Pixelate.

Set the numbers like mine below. The size of the pixel will vary depending on what kind of effect you want or the size of the actual image.
4) Now set that layer to Soft Light. And there you have it! You can stop here, or we can continue make the image show more of an 'effect'.

5) Duplicate the last layer and now set the layer to Overlay. Change the opacity of it to how much darkness/pixelated effect you want. I put mine down to 40.

See how simple that was? Go crazy and experiment with different pixel sizes and layer modes!
