Go to the materials section (if you don't have the materials section, go to the top, find the "palettes" button and choose "materials" from the drop down.) Click on the "Forground and Stroke properties" and then a pop up bix should appear.

Click on the gradient tab at the top.

To edit/create a new gradient, click "edit" half way down.

A new box should appear now.
If you want to edit, click the gradient from the box and change the colours using the bars below. If you don't know how to do this, follow through until the tutorial when it says about the tabs and colours and show the bars.
Ok to make a new gradient, click on new and type in a name. I worte "Shade of Green" as the tutorial will show me making a green gradient.

Once you click ok, click on one of the little tabs in the top colour bar. This will make sure you change the colour.

Then click on the box where it shows a colour. This will bring up the "colour" box. Choose your colour. Do the same with the other tab on the other side and change the colour. You can add more tabs by clicking below the bar, the more tabs you add, the more colours you want to add. To delete a tab, click on it and press "Delete" on your keyboard. If it doesn't go away, try moving the tabs around and then delete it.

If you want to add transparency to your gradient, look at the bottom section. It shows a greyscale and click on a tab or create a new tab and change the transparency on the left hand side. You can now see that your gradient has little grids/boxes on it showing that it's a transparent by how much you what it.

Remember that the top bar section is for the colours of the gradient and the bottom section is about where and how much you want the gradient to be transparent.
Here's the finished product. Just fill the page with the "flood fill" tool, or just paint it on.
