Blending

Making blends are easy... all you need really is a few images, some brushes and textures and text if you like.

First, decide who you want on your blend. I'm going to use Kelly Rowland for this tutorial. I found photos of her at Ultimate Kelly Rowland. Upload two/three/four of her photos to your paint program (I'm using Paint Shop Pro X for this tutorial). Look for photos which are similar, like same background or same outfit.
Find the photos that I used on the tutorial if you want here.

Crop the images. Some photos may have the site's address written on the bottom, so just make sure you credit that site before cropping that bit off. Make the photos go in three seperate layers. You should have a layer blank, select the "Flood Fill Tool (F)" >> "Foreground and Stroke Properties"; select the colour of the background on the photo and click "OK". Now fill the layer in that colour. Now you need a page to put all the pictures in a new page.
Go to File >>New...
Or just click "Ctrl" and "N" or the page icon below File.
Make the measurements around 570px by 280px.

Go back to the photos. Select the "Selection Tool". Look at the screenshot and make the properties the same like yours.

Then start from one edge of your photo, close to Kelly Rowland in this case and drag it down.

Copy and paste to the blank new page. Do this to all the photos. So you should have three photos all in one page. You might need to resize the images. Move them around to where you want them. You should have something like this:

I colourised the last photo (one on the right) a bit so it matches the others. Next select the middle photo using the "Pick Took (K)", and erase ("Eraser Tool") some of the background on the left. Make the size of the eraser tool quite big, and set the hardness to around 30/40. Slowly start from the very edge of the middle picture in. Do the same with the photo on the right. You can also select a picture by clicking on a layer. You should have something that looks like this:

Well, you have blended!! Wasn't that easy? Now you can add text, and a border and it would be done!
If you want your blend to look much better, read on. :)
So you should have four layers like this:

Right click on the image window bar, and select "Copy Merged".
Or Edit >> Copy Merged (Ctrl + Alt + C)
Then "paste as new layer". Get the glow look, by blurring it a little then change the layer mode to "overlay".

Add a new layer. Now add a texture of your choice. Look through my credits page to search for textures! Once you've got a texture, copy and paste to your paint program. Then paste it into the blank layer. Experiment with different textures and the layer modes (lighter, darker, soft light, overlay etc..) Now you can add brushes :) Again, look at my credits page if you want.

Add text, and finish it off with a border! And there's your blend! Here's how my blend turned out:

Just keep experimenting with different layer modes, colours, textures, gradients and brushes. You will get some stunning results. And here's my final version, I added more effects...
